A car drove into a crowd of football fans in Liverpool: the number of injured has increased.


An incident occurred in Liverpool when a car collided with a crowd of fans celebrating the victory of the football club. This resulted in injuries to at least 17 people. According to reports, the accident happened on Water Street in the city center.
During the incident, the car came to a stop after the collision, and the driver, a 53-year-old man, was detained by the police. Witnesses claim that the driver attempted to run over people several times before being stopped. Outraged fans tried to punish the offender themselves, but the police intervened.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, noted that the incident is horrific. He thanked the police and rescue services for their prompt response and expressed condolences to the victims and their families.

After the collision with the fans, 47 people were injured, of whom 27 require hospitalization, two of them sustained serious injuries. Among the injured are four children. The police believe that the incident has no signs of terrorism.
A similar situation recently occurred in Barcelona before the match between ‘Barcelona’ and ‘Espanyol’, where a car also collided with a crowd of fans, leaving at least 13 injured.
