In the Kursk region, Ukrainian military destroyed the commander of the battalion 'Kursk Knights', Ivan Krutikov. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing a deputy from Kursk, Dmitry Guliyev.

It is known that 33-year-old Krutikov, with the call sign '07', was killed in battle near Sudzhy on Wednesday, March 12.

'In a shootout face-to-face with the enemy, my brother and friend, the commander of the assault battalion 'Kursk Knights', Ivan Krutikov, was killed,' wrote Dmitry Guliyev.

According to Russian media, Ivan Krutikov went to the so-called Special Military Operation in 2022 as a fighter of a private military company. According to the occupier, he 'took part in more than one conflict,' but not as part of 'Wagner'. Later, Krutikov returned to Kursk, where he headed a children's boxing club 'Knight'. After the start of the UAF operation in the Kursk region, 'Knights' accepted Russian refugees, and two weeks later, Krutikov claimed that all club coaches signed contracts for military service.

Since then, Ivan Krutikov fought against Ukraine as part of the international brigade 'Pyatnashka', holding the position of commander of the assault battalion 'Kursk Knights', which was formed in September 2024. The 'Pyatnashka' brigade was formed in 2014, primarily from natives of Abkhazia; since then, military brigades have participated in the war against Ukraine, including the occupation of the city of Shakhtarsk in the Donetsk region. Since 2022, the military of the Russian 'Pyatnashka' participated in the offensive on the city of Avdiivka in Donetsk region, and in 2024, the brigade was redeployed to Kursk.
