Hurricane strike on Sumy: 34 dead, 117 injured

As of 20:00, it has become known that 34 people died and 117 were injured as a result of the hurricane strike on the city of Sumy. Among the injured are children, including a 6-year-old girl. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emotionally stated that only 'absolute scum' could carry out such a terror attack.

«Doctors and medical personnel are doing everything possible to help and save as many people as possible. I am grateful to all the services that reacted effectively and started rescue operations within just a few minutes. The strike occurred right in the center of the city on Palm Sunday. Only a completely heartless person could do this», - said Zelensky.

The President expressed gratitude to world leaders who supported Ukraine during this difficult Time.

«Today many leaders of countries, diplomats, and ordinary people with big hearts expressed their condolences to Ukraine and Ukrainians. They condemned the Russian strike. I want to thank everyone who remembers that wars end when the crimes of war are not forgotten and when sufficient pressure is applied to the aggressor. The head of state urged all world leaders to take decisive action and pressure the aggressor to stop the killing of innocent civilians.

«Today marks exactly one month since Russia rejected America's proposal for a complete and unconditional ceasefire. They are not afraid. And that is why there is ballistics. Hundreds of strike drones, most of which are 'Shaheds', attack ordinary Ukrainian cities every day. Russian assaults on the front continue: they continue to attack and spread hatred in their state propaganda. This can only be changed through pressure and decisive actions.
