During the war, over 10,000 protocols were drawn up against Russians for 'discrediting' the army.

Russia drew up over 10,000 protocols by August 2024 under the article on 'discrediting' the army for anti-war statements. This was reported by the publication 'Mediazona'.
The first protocols for 'discrediting' the army were drawn up in March 2022. In less than a month, their number exceeded one thousand. The number of protocols by the end of 2022 was 5614, and by the end of 2023 - 8590.
According to the publication, the ten-thousandth protocol was handed over to the court at the beginning of August 2024.
The fine for 'discrediting' the army for individuals is 30-50 thousand rubles. The total amount of fines imposed under this article of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation by the end of 2023 amounted to 227.8 million rubles ($2.58 million).
Repeat 'discrediting' of the army is subject to criminal liability. According to 'OVD-Info', cases have already been initiated against 194 people in Russia under this article.
In Russia, in March 2022, shortly after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, administrative and criminal liability was introduced for 'discrediting' the army, as well as criminal liability for 'fakes' about the military.
Recall that Ukrainian Oleksiy Yefimenko received up to seven years in a high-security prison in the Russian Federation in a case of 'espionage'.
By the way, the Russian prosecutor's office demands to ban the computer game Last Train Home about the Civil War in Russia (1917-1923) because it allegedly discredits the Russian Federation and the Red Army soldiers.
