Drivers have until March 21, otherwise - a fine: what is important to do.

Ukrainian drivers should be cautious with tire tread in winter
With the start of the warm season, drivers are advised to replace winter tires with summer ones if they do not use all-season tires. This will help avoid fines.
According to the Traffic Rules, the tread depth of tires must be at least 1.6 mm for passenger cars and 2.0 mm for trucks and buses. It is also recommended to use winter tires until March 31, and switch to summer tires from April 1.
'The further use of winter tires in warm weather poses a danger and is economically unwise. It negatively affects braking, handling, tread, and fuel consumption. Winter tires are effective up to +7 degrees, so at an average daily temperature above +5 degrees, it is recommended to use summer tires.'
Ukrainian law does not provide for fines for using winter tires in the summer. However, if the tread of winter tires is worn out, the driver may be fined in the amount of 20-40 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens. For repeated violations of this rule, the driver may be deprived of the right to drive for 3-6 months.
