Investigation of the Missile Strike on Sumy

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published the results of the investigation into the missile strike on Sumy that occurred on June 3, 2025. As a result of the shelling, six civilians were killed, and another 29 were injured.

The military intelligence identified the Russian servicemen involved in this crime. The enemy used the BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system from the 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment (military unit 72162) for the shelling. The positions of the Russian unit were located near the village of Apanasivka in the Kursk region.

The shelling of Sumy occurred on June 3 at 9:20 AM. Intelligence recorded eight hits of reactive shells on the city. Sixteen objects were damaged, including 15 residential buildings of various types and clinical hospital No. 4. Railway tracks were also affected.

Among the 29 injured were three children. The youngest victim of this attack was only three years old.
