In Ukraine, age restrictions have been updated for drivers: who won't be able to drive.

In Ukraine, there are age restrictions for drivers of different categories of vehicles. These restrictions are necessary to ensure road safety and reduce risks associated with driving cars.
According to information published by the press service of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the Telegram channel, the age allowed for driving different vehicles varies. The minimum age to obtain a category "A" license (motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds) is 16 years. However, it is important to note that although preparation can begin earlier, the theoretical exam can only be taken after reaching adulthood.
To drive passenger and cargo vehicles (categories "B" and "C" up to 7.5 tons), an age of 18 years is required. From the age of 19, individuals can obtain licenses to drive vehicles with heavy trailers (categories "BE" and "CE").
The highest age requirements are for bus and minibus drivers (category "D") - starting from 21 years. This is due to the greater responsibility for transporting passengers.
These restrictions are developed based on international experience and aim to ensure the necessary level of maturity and responsibility of drivers. They also take into account the complexity of driving different types of vehicles and the potential risks associated with each category.
Road safety experts emphasize that such age restrictions are an important part of the overall road safety system. They allow young drivers to gradually gain experience, starting with less complex vehicles and gradually moving on to more complex ones with age.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reminds that, in addition to age restrictions, obtaining a driver's license requires undergoing training, passing theoretical and practical exams, and regularly undergoing medical examinations to confirm the ability to drive vehicles.
