Ukraine may cut spending on subsidies and benefits in 2025.

The draft state budget of Ukraine for 2025 provides for a significant reduction in spending on housing subsidies and benefits. The Cabinet of Ministers plans to reduce funding for this item by 15.2%, which will lead to a decrease in the total amount of funds to 42.3 billion hryvnias.
This was reported by "Hvylya", citing the draft state budget for 2025.
According to the new plan, spending on housing subsidies and benefits will decrease by 7.6 billion hryvnias compared to 2024. It is expected that the number of subsidy recipients will decrease by 400 thousand people, reducing to 2.8 million. This is a 12.5% reduction in the number of recipients.
It should be noted that this decision contrasts with the previous increase in subsidy funding by 32% in 2024, when 49.9 billion hryvnias were allocated.
The government explains the reduction in spending by several factors. Among them are the improvement of the subsidy system, clarification of criteria for assessing financial and property status, and the cessation of payments to persons abroad and in temporarily occupied territories.
