In Serbia, they stated that BRICS is an alternative to the European Union. Serbia will send its representative to the BRICS summit in Kazan.
This was reported by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.
Vulin expressed the opinion that if BRICS is attractive to other countries, then Serbia should pay attention to it. He confirmed Serbia's participation in the BRICS summit in Kazan from October 22 to 24.
"It would be irresponsible if we didn't explore all options, including membership in BRICS. If BRICS is attractive to other countries, why should Serbia be different? There is no doubt that BRICS has become a real alternative to the EU," Vulin said.
According to Vulin, he is a Eurosceptic, but he supports the desire of the majority of the Serbian population to become a member of the EU.
