In the coming days, military equipment will be moving in Moldova: what is the reason.

Military equipment will be moving on the roads of Moldova in the coming days due to the conduct of multinational exercises. From August 5 to 23, participants in the exercise 'Scutul de Foc-2024' will include Romanian, American, and Moldovan military personnel, as well as technical units of the National Army of Moldova. The Ministry of Defense of Moldova noted that these exercises are aimed at developing operational capabilities and enhancing operational compatibility between participants. Conducting such exercises has been a tradition in Moldova since 2015, despite its neutral status, the country's authorities cooperate with NATO and its members to strengthen security and defense capabilities.
In a recent interview, Ukraine's Ambassador to Moldova, Marko Shevchenko, said that Kyiv is in 'dialogue' with Chisinau regarding the return of Ukrainian men who illegally left the country. However, Moldova's Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated that the country will adhere to international human rights laws. It should be reminded that the pre-election period has now begun in Moldova ahead of the presidential elections and the referendum on European integration, which will take place on October 20.
