Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko reported that Ukraine's energy system has nuclear energy as its basis.
He made this statement during his visit to the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant.
"This war has confirmed that our energy system is built on nuclear energy. This is a fact that can be perceived in different ways, but it is a reality," the minister noted.
"As of today, we can say that up to 60% of electricity is generated at our nuclear power plants. This includes even the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, which is temporarily under occupation," Galushchenko emphasized.
He also expressed his gratitude to the workers of the nuclear energy sector for their professionalism and dedicated work.
"Ukraine should be proud of such people, the highly qualified workers of Energoatom, who have proven many times and continue to prove that they are ready to work hard to ensure the reliability of the system during difficult times for our country, to provide people with electrical energy and the overall energy security of the entire state," Herman Galushchenko emphasized.
