In Congo, dozens of people sentenced to death for attempted coup.


In the military court of the Democratic Republic of Congo, 37 people were sentenced to death for participating in a failed coup in May. Among the sentenced - three US citizens. This was reported by Reuters.
The sentence was announced in the courtyard of Ndolo military prison on the outskirts of the capital Kinshasa. The military court of Congo found the three Americans guilty of criminal conspiracy, terrorism, and other crimes and sentenced them to death.
A total of about 50 people, including citizens of the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Belgium, and Congo, appeared before the court after the failed coup attempt. A total of 37 defendants were sentenced to death.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that employees of the US embassy were present at the trial and would continue to closely monitor developments.
Death penalty in South Carolina
It should be reminded that in the American state of South Carolina, an execution will be carried out for the first Time in 13 years.
