Tesla plans to import components from China for electric vehicle production

American company Tesla intends to begin importing components from China for the production of new electric vehicles Cybercab and Semi trucks by the end of May. This information was released by a source citing Reuters.

In recent months, Tesla suspended the supply of components due to the imposition of high tariffs on Chinese goods by US President Donald Trump. However, with the restoration of trade relations between the USA and China, the company plans to resume supplies from this country.

In April, Tesla halted the supply of components after President Donald Trump raised tariffs on Chinese goods to 145%.

Tesla's plans to begin production of new models Cybercab and Semi could be realized as early as next year. In addition, the company intends to launch a robotaxi service using the Cybercab model, which could open new prospects in the transportation services market.

Trump's tariffs aimed at boosting production in the United States hurt Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a political ally of Trump.

Tesla's plans indicate ongoing development and readiness to take leadership positions in the future car manufacturing sector. Cooperation with China could open new opportunities for the company's growth and supply new technologies for electric transportation.
