The Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Marina Honda, reported that almost 87% of the displaced persons who arrived in Kyiv after the beginning of the war plan to stay in the capital. In particular, the displaced persons cite work and the presence of relatives and friends in Kyiv as the main reasons for remaining in the city.
The largest group of displaced persons consists of those who fled from the Donetsk region as well as from the Kherson region. The number of displaced persons in Kyiv increases if hostilities in the east of the country intensify. Currently, there are 419 thousand internally displaced persons registered in Kyiv, of which more than 185 thousand are displaced persons since 2014.
