The USA wants to deport Afghans: veterans and human rights activists outraged.

The Trump administration revoked deportation protection for Afghans in the USA
The decision of former U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to end temporary deportation protection for Afghan citizens who arrived in the United States after the Taliban took power has sparked a wave of criticism among American veterans and human rights organizations. Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen announced this month the termination of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program for Afghans.
If this decision is implemented as early as July, about 10,000 people who have not yet obtained permanent residency rights in the USA could face the threat of deportation.
In Washington, this was explained by saying that the situation in Afghanistan has allegedly undergone 'significant improvement', despite the ongoing authoritarian rule of the Taliban. This explanation has outraged U.S. military veterans, who emphasize the need to protect Afghan refugees.
'It's ridiculous. If they try to deport Afghans, you will see physical resistance from veterans. Literally,' emphasized one veteran.
'Former infantry commander Andrew Sullivan from the organization No One Left Behind called the administration's actions a betrayal for those who served. He emphasized the necessity of protecting Afghans who risked their lives collaborating with the United States.
Even among Republican Party members, there is no consensus on this initiative. Some veterans lean towards the importance of distinguishing those who closely worked with U.S. military forces from those whose connection with the United States is questionable.
'The difference between them and those who may have provided murky services is significant,' noted one of the congressmen.
Thus, Trump's administration's decision to revoke deportation protection for Afghans in the USA has provoked a sharp reaction among veterans and human rights advocates, who emphasize the necessity to protect those in danger due to their cooperation with the United States.
