Today, June 19, another prisoner exchange took place between Ukraine and Russia. The SBU in its statement showed photos and videos of the return of Ukrainian citizens who were in captivity.

"Today's exchange is the result of the work of the Unified Coordination Center for the Search and Release of Prisoners, the Coordination Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, and other authorized structures that carried out the directives of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky," the SBU stated.

Ukrainian authorities emphasized that for them, every Ukrainian is the most important value, so they proceed with exchanges and the release of Ukrainian prisoners. The main priority is to bring all citizens back home. Details of the exchange show that at this stage, Ukraine has released defenders from Russian captivity, including military personnel, guards, and border guards, some of whom had been held captive since 2022. The Russian side plans to use these exchanges to discredit Ukraine through its media. During the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia on June 19, defenders who had been in captivity since 2022 were released. The day before, on June 14, Ukraine also returned its citizens who had been held captive since previous years. The Russian side actively uses prisoner exchanges for its political purposes and tries to discredit Ukraine through the media.
