Russians Refused Tanks: How Tactics Changed in the Toretsky Direction

In the Toretsky direction, Russian troops changed their tactics more than a month ago. Instead of using equipment for assaults, they switched to a tactic of 'meat assaults'. This was stated by the chief of staff of the 'Spalah' battalion of the 28th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the call sign 'Peretel', in an interview for the Army TV channel.

'The equipment has not been seen for over a month, the main assaults are meat assaults. Pairs, threes,' the military described the enemy's tactics, which carry out attacks in small groups of 2-3 soldiers.

According to him, in some cases, enemy units temporarily settle in shelters, but Ukrainian defenders respond effectively to such attempts. 'When the enemies temporarily hide in a sheltered place, our military 'smokes' them out of there using drones: destroying both the shelter itself and the enemy inside,' the military explained.

Adaptation to Combat Conditions

The change in tactics of the Russian troops in the Toretsky direction indicates their adaptation to the conditions of combat operations where mass use of drones makes the use of heavy equipment very risky.
