The President of South Korea lifted the state of martial law after Parliament's vote.

The President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol, announced the lifting of martial law after the National Assembly voted for its cancellation. This occurred a few hours after the declaration of a state of emergency.
According to South Korean media, the president stated that he would lift martial law after a cabinet meeting. Troops have already been withdrawn from the area of the National Assembly after Parliament voted to end the state of emergency.
Earlier, President Yoon announced martial law, accusing the opposition of 'rebellion' and attempting to 'overthrow free democracy'. This decision provoked mass protests in Seoul, where thousands of demonstrators gathered in front of the parliament building.
The opposition leader, Lee Jae-myung, rejected the president's accusations, stating that 'there are no grounds for the introduction of martial law'. Even the head of the ruling party, Han Dong-hoon, opposed the president's decision, calling the imposition of martial law 'wrong'.
According to the constitution of South Korea, if the National Assembly demands the lifting of martial law, the president is obliged to comply 'without delay'.
