Fires Complicate Situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant – IAEA.

The problems faced by the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant are being complicated by severe fires that have been ongoing for a week. This was reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
According to IAEA information, several fires have erupted at a distance from the power plant and nearby villages. The situation became particularly serious over the weekend when the fires approached the power lines supplying the plant.
"ZAES's external power supply remains vulnerable, and any threat to the operability of the last two power lines is of extreme concern," said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
The agency emphasized that the fires pose a risk of losing the external power supply to ZAES. Grossi called for measures to protect the lines and ensure their operability.
It should be noted that in July, the IAEA recorded explosions and gunfire near the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Additionally, the water level in the cooling pond at the power plant continues to decline due to the heat.
