People's Deputy Olga Vasilevska-Smahliuk reported on the conditions that must be met for tax authorities to take an interest in citizens selling goods online. During a television broadcast, she noted that the tax service will pay attention to those who regularly and in large volumes engage in sales.

According to the Tax Code, regular sales are considered to be the constant sale of homogeneous goods. The tax service plans to check individuals or business entities who do not pay taxes or sell 'in the gray'. However, attention will only be focused on significant sales volumes.

'It will [tax office] be interested in those business entities or individuals only if these sales reach hundreds a month and this is a homogeneous product,' the MP noted.

One of the conditions for attracting the attention of fiscal authorities is that the goods must be new, not used personal items.

Vasilevska-Smahliuk emphasized that the tax service will only pay attention to those cases where unpaid taxes offset the costs of the audits. 'We are talking about evasion of millions of hryvnias every month. Smaller amounts do not interest our tax service,' she stated.

The main source of information for the tax service will be the accounting system of cash register recorders (RRRs), which allows tracking financial flows through marketplaces. Open data from social networks or Telegram channels may also be used, but only with suspicion of significant trading volumes.

The deputy added that the tax service is already demonstrating success in combating the shadow economy, exceeding the revenue plan for the state budget by 36 billion hryvnias since the beginning of the year. She assured that the focus of controlling bodies is on major violators, not on citizens selling small or used personal items.

It is also worth remembering that there is a certain amount that can be transferred to a card without paying taxes.
