The titled Ukrainian athlete has passed away.


On Thursday, March 27, Sergey Belokurov, a former champion of Ukraine in speedway among juniors, died. In the 1970s and 1980s, he competed for the 'Skhid' team from Voznesensk and participated in many competitions, including winning the team championship of Ukraine among juniors in 1978. He was also the vice-champion of Ukraine and entered the top 10 of the final of the individual championship of the USSR in 1978.
After finishing his career, the athlete actively participated in veteran speedway in Ukraine and became a two-Time holder of the Cup of Ukraine among veterans. He was also a four-time silver medalist of the Cup of Ukraine.
On the 50th year of his life, Gennady Gorbenko, a prominent Ukrainian athlete, has passed away.
Gorbenko was the first world champion among juniors in athletics during the years of independent Ukraine. He also participated in the 2000 Olympic Games, where he placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles.
Tributes and farewell to Gennady will take place on March 31.
Recall that Japanese gymnast Akinori Nakayama passed away on March 9 at the age of 83. He won six gold medals at the Olympic Games and received two silvers and two bronzes.
