The exhumation of Polish victims of the Volhynian tragedy has begun in Ternopil region - media.

The exhumation of the remains of Poles who died during the Volhynian tragedy has begun in the Ternopil region. The work is being carried out in a forested area where about 80 graves of those who died in 1945 are located. A medical base has also been set up at the site to examine the remains.
The exhumation is being conducted by specialists from Poland and Ukraine, including forensic experts, archaeologists, geneticists, and anthropologists. Ukrainian scientists from the 'Freedom and Democracy' Foundation are cooperating with representatives of the Pomeranian Medical University and the Institute of National Remembrance, who discovered the burial site two years ago.
Representatives of the Ukrainian foundation 'Volhynian Antiquities' and the police are also participating in the work to ensure safety. Correspondents note that the work is complicated by the difficult terrain and the possibility of rain.
This is already the second exhumation of the remains of Polish victims of the Volhynian tragedy that Ukraine has allowed to take place.
Furthermore, a plaque has been installed at the Monastery Mountain in Poland on the mass grave of UPA fighters, accusing Ukrainian insurgents of terror against defenseless Ukrainian, Polish, and Jewish citizens. The Ukrainian and Polish authorities condemned the act of vandalism against this memorial site.
