You can't save on repairs - which building materials have skyrocketed in price

Ukrainians are actively purchasing real estate and conducting repairs, even during wartime. However, the prices of building materials have jumped by 80-120%, posing a serious challenge for both individuals and construction companies.

The demand for repairs remains high

According to the head of a construction team, the demand for repair services continues to grow, but due to the mobilization of workers, there are issues with labor availability.

In this situation, Ukrainians have to turn to official companies, which may be more expensive but provide high quality and a clear work plan.

Price increase of materials nearly doubled

The prices of building materials have increased by at least 80-120%. After the invasion, prices for cement, windows, metal, paints, wallpapers, adhesives, and fittings significantly rose.

Dependence on imports

Many building materials in Ukraine are produced locally, but some components are imported, such as fittings, which affects prices. Additionally, the shortage of windows, which are now imported from the EU and Turkey, makes them more expensive.

Price forecasts

Experts predict a further increase in prices for building materials due to sustained demand, rising import costs, and insufficient domestic production.

Ukrainians are not giving up and continue to actively conduct repairs and engage in construction despite the challenges associated with rising building material costs. For the sake of quality and safety, they turn to official companies, despite their higher prices. The price forecasts for the future are not optimistic, anticipating further increases due to a range of factors, including dependence on imports.
