In Mykolaiv region, the head of the headquarters 'accounted' for 8 million UAH in 'combat' – State Bureau of Investigations.

A staff officer from Mykolaiv is suspected of organizing a fraudulent scheme. Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations completed a pre-trial investigation against the head of the headquarters of one of the military units in the Mykolaiv region, who is suspected of organizing a scheme for the illegal accrual of combat payments. His brother, who held the position of a unit commander, was also involved in this scheme. According to the investigation, between March and June 2024, they forged documentation, providing false information about the participation of military personnel in combat actions.
Another official of the unit — the assistant to the head of the headquarters — assisted them in this scheme.
As a result of these actions, losses of nearly 8 million UAH were incurred. The suspects have been notified of the suspicion for the facts of abuse of office and official forgery. They face up to 6 years of imprisonment. The aim of the investigation is to recover the losses incurred by the state through appropriate civil action.
