The FBI conducted a search at the estate of Russian political scientist Dmitry Simes in Virginia
The Federal Bureau of Investigation carried out a search at the suburban estate of well-known Russian political scientist Dmitry Simes in Virginia. The search was authorized by the court and currently the FBI does not comment on the details.
According to the local publication Rappahannock News, law enforcement officers conducted a search at the estate called 'Patrya' on Tuesday morning and returned to it on Thursday.
Dmitry Simes and his wife purchased this 132.6-acre estate for $1.63 million in 2021.
The Russian-American political scientist stated that he did not receive any notification from law enforcement agencies regarding the search of his property and is considering contacting them to obtain clarification.
Dmitry Simes is known as a co-host of a program on international relations on the Russian channel 'Pervy'. His name was mentioned in Robert Mueller's report, but he was never charged.
For decades, Simes has worked as an expert on Russian affairs and was the head of the Center for National Interest, a think tank founded by Richard Nixon.
It is worth noting that earlier the Russian propagandist Yulia Vityazeva accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after his statement about the 'end of Putin'.
The famous singer Larisa Dolina also sold her property and transferred the money to a 'safe account'.
