Conditions for Trump's negotiations with Ukraine and Russia
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has revealed under what conditions US leader Donald Trump would agree to come to negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, according to Reuters. He stated that Trump agreed to participate in peace talks only if Russian leader Vladimir Putin also participates. Trump conveyed this information during his return from the NATO summit.
Erdogan informed Trump that Turkey wants both Ukrainian and Russian leaders to gather for peace talks in Turkey. 'He (Trump) said: 'If President of Russia Vladimir Putin comes to Istanbul or Ankara to resolve the issue, then I will also come. We will establish the necessary contacts and, God willing, this meeting will take place as soon as possible,' Erdogan said.
Trump commented on the meeting with Zelensky and announced a new conversation with the Kremlin. Under such conditions, negotiations in Turkey may take place between the countries, which will contribute to the development of the situation in the region and in international politics in general.
During the meeting with Trump, Erdogan emphasized the importance of peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia and expressed hope that the meeting with the participation of both leaders would take place as soon as possible. This could open new opportunities for resolving conflicts and political issues in the region.Read also
