U.S. President Donald Trump, in his interview with Time, stated that the reason for the start of Russia's war against Ukraine was the discussion of Ukraine's possible accession to NATO.
'I think the reason for the start of the war was that they [Ukraine] began talking about joining NATO,' Trump said.
The President also expressed his opinion on a peaceful settlement, which involves transferring part of Ukrainian territory to Russia, specifically about 20%.
Trump also believes that Crimea should remain under Russian control, annexing it.
'Crimea will remain with Russia,' he emphasized.
It is worth noting that Ukraine has taken control of the peace settlement process, and the new plan will not allow Russia to threaten NATO.
