Autogas is no longer 'budget': why prices have soared and whether they will return to previous values.

The price of automotive gas in Ukraine has increased by 8 hryvnias per liter over the last six months. This has been a result of increased excise tax and supply chain issues, said Serhiy Kuyun, director of the consulting group 'A95'.
Kuyun noted that the price of autogas has risen by 8 hryvnias per liter due to an excise tax increase of 6.4 hryvnias. In comparison, the price of gasoline has hardly changed after the excise increase, while diesel fuel has only increased by 2.5 hryvnias per liter.
Additionally, the rise in price has been aided by an increase in the purchase price of liquefied gas. Poland, which is one of the largest suppliers of autogas to Ukraine, is looking for alternative ways to import fuel due to the embargo on Russian gas to the EU.
Despite this situation, Kuyun hopes that once the procurement issues are resolved, the price of gas will drop to 60% of the price of gasoline.
Gas price today
Currently, automotive gas costs 36.95 UAH per liter.
Geopolitical influence on the market
Sanctions against Russia continue to impact global markets, including the fuel sector, which may lead to an increase in energy prices in Ukraine.
