Barcelona Airport canceled and delayed dozens of flights due to heavy rains.


On November 4, a red alert was issued in Barcelona due to heavy rains in the city and its surroundings. Authorities urged people not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Rains from the Valencia region moved to the southeast of the country to Barcelona.
Videos circulating on social media show water entering the terminal of Barcelona Airport. The Spanish meteorological agency declared a red level of danger due to heavy rains in certain parts of Catalonia.
El Prat Airport in Barcelona, the second largest in Spain, canceled or delayed dozens of flights. Train services were also suspended.
Earlier, at least 217 people died in similar floods in the Valencia region. Rescue teams actively searched for missing people in underground parking lots.

Residents of Valencia criticized King Philip VI of Spain, Queen Letizia, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and the regional government head Carlos Mas, for their reaction to the flood. They called them "murderers".
