50 meters to the dangerous area: new requirements for drivers.

KYIV PATROL POLICE TOLD ABOUT THE 'CHILDREN' SIGN
The Kyiv patrol police continue to inform citizens about the traffic rules, focusing on road signs.
Today, law enforcement officials detailed the 'Children' sign, which plays a significant role in ensuring the safety of children on the road.
The 'Children' road sign is installed in places where a child may suddenly appear from nearby children's institutions such as kindergartens, schools, camps, and other similar facilities.
The police emphasize that this sign is critically important to prevent traffic accidents involving children.
Attention is drawn to the clear norms for the placement of the sign. Outside settlements, it should be installed at a distance of 150-300 meters before the start of a potentially dangerous area.
In populated areas, this distance is 50-100 meters. In cases where the sign needs to be installed at a different distance, an additional plate 'Distance to Object' with corresponding information is used.
Special emphasis is placed on duplicating the sign. According to the rules, both in populated areas and outside, the 'Children' sign must be repeated. The second sign is placed at least 50 meters before the start of the dangerous area to allow drivers to reduce speed in advance and stay alert.
The Kyiv patrol police urge all road users to be especially careful near children's institutions and to adhere to traffic rules. The safety of children on the road is a priority task for the police and requires a responsible attitude from drivers.
Earlier, citizens were reminded of violations of traffic rules and the amounts of fines.
